Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Mytikas ("we", "us"), the maker of Zymo. By downloading, installing or using the app, or by using this website, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Zymo.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle data and forms part of this agreement.
Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Zymo on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from. We keep every right we do not expressly give you.
You may not, and may not let anyone else:
- copy, modify or create derivative works of the app, its recipes, text or artwork
- reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code, except where the law allows it
- rent, lease, sell, sublicense or publicly distribute the app or its content
- remove or hide any ownership notice
Who can use Zymo
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country sets a higher age of digital consent for an app like this. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf and supervise your use, including any purchase.
What Zymo does
Zymo is a sourdough baking companion. It offers recipes, a starter feeding schedule, a bake planner, baker's calculators, a journal, loaf and starter scans, and Crumb, an AI baking guide. Features, recipes, limits and prices can change over time. We may add, change or remove features, and we will try to give notice of changes that significantly reduce what a subscription includes.
Recipes and timings are starting points. Flour, water, temperature and starter strength all change the result, so trust your dough over the clock.
AI features
Crumb replies, journal advice and scan reports are generated by an AI model. Please understand what that means:
- The output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when it sounds sure.
- Scores and ratings are estimates based on what is visible in a photo. A scan cannot smell, taste or measure your bread, and it cannot tell you whether a food is safe to eat.
- Crumb is limited to baking, cooking and food topics, and may decline other requests.
- Use your own judgement before acting on anything Zymo says, and check anything that matters, such as an allergen, a dietary need or how long food has been left out.
Free use of Crumb and scans has limits, and Pro has higher limits. We may change limits, and we may refuse requests that look like abuse. See the privacy policy for what leaves your device when you use these features.
Baking and food safety
Baking involves hot ovens, hot cookware, steam, sharp tools and raw ingredients. Take care and follow normal kitchen safety. Zymo does not give medical, nutritional or allergy advice. Always check ingredient labels and make your own safety decisions about food, especially for people with allergies or health conditions. Raw flour and raw dough can carry bacteria, so do not eat them uncooked.
Your content
Your journal entries, photos, notes and messages stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to process what you submit in order to run the feature you asked for, for example to send a photo to our AI provider for a scan. We do not claim ownership of it, and we do not use it to advertise.
You are responsible for what you submit. Only send photos and text you have the right to use, and keep other people's private information out of them.
Acceptable use
Do not use Zymo to:
- break the law or someone else's rights
- upload anything unlawful, harmful or sexually explicit
- try to get around limits, device checks or subscription checks, or share access in ways the store rules do not allow
- send automated, bulk or scripted requests to our service
- probe, disrupt or attack our servers, or try to reach data that is not yours
- use Crumb or scans to build or train a competing product
We may limit or block access that breaks these rules.
Subscriptions
Zymo is free to download. Some features need Zymo Pro, an auto-renewing subscription. The length, price and any free trial are shown in the app and by your store before you confirm. Prices include the taxes your store applies and are charged in your local currency.
Apple App Store
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you chose.
- You can manage or cancel in your Apple ID account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions) at any time after purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
Google Play
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically each period until you cancel in Google Play (Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions). Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
- Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
Refunds, restores and price changes
Apple and Google handle billing and refunds, and their refund policies apply. We cannot refund a charge made through a store ourselves, so please ask the store. Use Restore on the Zymo Pro screen to recover Pro on a new device. If a price rises, the store will tell you and may need your consent before your next renewal.
Ownership
Zymo, including its code, design, recipes, writing, mascots (Crumb, Bubbles, Sprout and Baguette), name and logo, belongs to Mytikas or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Recipes are for your personal use. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
Third-party services
Zymo relies on services from others, including Apple, Google, OpenAI, Cloudflare, Adapty and PostHog. Their terms apply to their services, and we are not responsible for them. If one of them is down, part of Zymo may not work.
Disclaimers
Zymo is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose, or that recipes, timings, scores or AI replies will be accurate or give you a particular loaf. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mytikas is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or for spoiled ingredients and failed bakes. Our total liability for any claim about Zymo is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us (through the store) in the 12 months before the claim and 50 euros. None of this limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription in your store account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if the law requires it. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as ownership, disclaimers and liability, continue after that.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top, and for important changes we will tell you in the app or in the release notes. Using Zymo after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, stop using the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Mytikas is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
Apple terms
These apply if you got Zymo from the Apple App Store.
- This agreement is between you and Mytikas only, not Apple. Mytikas, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service allow.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Mytikas is responsible for support, and you can reach us through the support page.
- If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claim, loss or cost caused by a failure to meet a warranty is Mytikas's responsibility.
- Mytikas, not Apple, is responsible for any claims about the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the app infringes its intellectual property, Mytikas, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending and settling that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country under a US government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile carrier's.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement. When you accept it, Apple can enforce it against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Questions, complaints or claims about the app can go to Mytikas at info@mytikas.org.
Google Play terms
If you got Zymo from Google Play, Google's Terms of Service and Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your download, purchases and refunds. Google is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the app or its support. Mytikas is.
